Nick Furia

Attorney

Nick’s practice is devoted entirely to property tax appeals throughout Minnesota. Nick represents owners and occupants of all types of commercial property, including apartments, shopping centers, hotels, auto dealerships, office buildings, industrial facilities, and medical office buildings. Each year, Nick achieves substantial reductions in his clients’ assessed values, yielding millions of dollars in tax savings.

In 2022, Nick was first awarded the AV-Preeminent Rating, which is Martindale-Hubbell‘s highest peer rating standard, signifying a large number of his peers rank him at the highest level of professional excellence for his legal knowledge, communication skills, and ethical standards. Nick’s peers rated him 5.0/5.0.

Nick was selected as a Minnesota Super Lawyer in 2022, 2023, 2024, and again in 2025. Prior to that, for nine consecutive years (2010-2018), Nick was the only Minnesota property tax lawyer selected as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers.com, Minneapolis Saint Paul magazine, Minnesota Law & Politics magazine, and Twin Cities Business magazine. The Super Lawyers-Rising Stars list represents the top Minnesota attorneys age 40 or younger.  Nick was also recognized by Minnesota Monthly as a Top Lawyer in 2025.

Nick was the IPT’s 2021 Annual Conference-Property Tax Chair, and Chair of the IPT’s 2014 Property Tax Symposium. He served on the IPT Property Tax Symposium Committee from 2010-2021. Nick is also a past Chairman of the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Tax Council.

Since 2016, Nick has served as a Regional Editor of the ABA’s Property Tax Deskbook, and for nearly two decades, Nick has been a frequent lecturer on the topics of property taxes, valuation, legal writing, and negotiation to audiences of appraisers, attorneys, commercial real estate brokers, property managers, and corporate tax personnel.
