Tim Mitchell is a Senior Analyst with 29 years of assessment, valuation, and property tax experience working for city and county governments throughout the state of Minnesota. Tim joined the firm in 2022 and is a graduate from the Real Estate Program at St. Cloud State University and earned the designation of Senior Accredited Minnesota Assessor from the Minnesota State Board of Assessors in 1998.
Tim served as the Maple Grove City Assessor for 12 years and was responsible for the annual assessment of the city with a value exceeding 13.6 billion dollars, containing 26,000 parcels. Previously, Tim worked as the Commercial Appraiser for the City of Maple Grove, as a Senior Appraiser with Stearns County and as an Appraiser with Dakota County. His valuation and assessment experience includes extensive work with numerous property types including retail, commercial, office, industrial, senior living facilities, and multi-family. Tim has 20 years of experience working with Minnesota property tax appeals and his unique perspective as a former City Assessor coupled with his negotiating skills allows him to provide our clients with the best possible outcomes within the property tax assessment appeals process.
Tim is an active member of the Minnesota Association of Assessing Officers (MAAO) and served six years as a member of the Education Steering Committee, where he developed two income approach courses for the MAAO. He is a former region president and region vice president of the MAAO and is a member of the St. Cloud State University Real Estate Alumni Association.
